We partner with innovative startups and enterprises, building cutting-edge products in cloud-native, data engineering, B2B SaaS, IoT, and Machine Learning spaces. If you’re a problem-solver with a knack for transforming ideas into successful products, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do: Architect, Optimize, and Own Observability
As an Observability Engineer, you’ll be a key player in ensuring the reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency of our clients’ systems. You will translate business SLAs/SLOs into concrete technical implementations across the full stack, encompassing APM, Logs, Metrics, RUM, Synthetics, and Service Catalogs.
- Design and Implement: Create robust monitors (threshold, anomaly, composite) to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Champion Best Practices: Enforce best practices for PII hygiene, redaction, and SLO adherence.
- Drive FinOps: Lead a structured, data-driven FinOps initiative focused on significantly reducing Datadog spend across logs, metrics, traces, synthetics, and RUM through targeted strategies. This is a primary KPI for the role.
- Automate Everything: Embrace an “everything as code” approach using Terraform, APIs, and CI/CD for observability configuration.
- Report and Analyze: Generate comprehensive reports on MTTD/MTTR, alert noise, and cost by service/team to drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring: Experience and Expertise
We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with:
- Proven Experience: 6+ years in SRE, DevOps, or Observability roles.
- Datadog Mastery: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Datadog, covering APM, Logs, Metrics, Dashboards, and SLOs.
- Client-Facing Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead workshops, align stakeholders, and develop compelling proposals.
- Technical Prowess: Strong understanding of Datadog pipelines, tagging, alerting, dashboards, and cost controls.
- Automation Expertise: Proficiency with Terraform (Datadog Provider) or Datadog APIs.
- DevOps Mindset: Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD for observability configuration.
- Incident Management Familiarity: Knowledge of incident management tools like PagerDuty, ServiceNow, or Slack.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
