Your Mission: Leading and Empowering Our Core Platform Team

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our engineering efforts, leading a team dedicated to the core of PandaDoc’s platform. You’ll be instrumental in driving technical decisions, shaping platform-wide strategy, and fostering a culture of autonomy and high performance.

• Technical Leadership: Facilitate the discovery of optimal technical solutions, establish efficient processes, and ensure high-quality, predictable value delivery.
• People Leadership: Directly mentor engineers, focusing on career growth, team structure, and performance management. Help them set ambitious goals and achieve their full potential.
• Strategic Impact: Contribute to track-wide and company-wide initiatives, shaping engineering processes, delivery, and collaboration across multiple teams.

What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineering processes that foster seamless delivery and collaboration among multiple engineering teams.
• Manage the performance and professional growth of engineers, guiding them to excel in their roles.
• Ensure the unwavering stability and reliability of our system, maintaining a robust and dependable platform.
• Partner with stakeholders to create a predictable delivery environment, aligning engineering efforts with business objectives.
• Translate company and product priorities into a clear and actionable engineering roadmap, balancing innovation with necessary tech debt management.
• Collaborate closely with product teams to align engineering strategies with product vision and user needs.
• Lead recruitment efforts to build a world-class engineering team.
• Act as a change agent, continuously transforming and improving our engineering environment.

What You Bring to the Table: Qualifications

We’re looking for a leader with a proven track record and a passion for building exceptional platforms.

• 8+ years of engineering experience, including relevant experience in an engineering management role.
• Prior experience as a Software Engineer, providing a strong foundation in software development principles.
• Experience working with platform architecture, with a focus on backend systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple teams and/or teams with complex dependencies.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and leadership.
• Experience working in a product-driven organization, understanding the nuances of product development.
• Experience managing delivery processes, ensuring timely and efficient project completion.
• A self-starter mentality, thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
• A strong customer and product focus, prioritizing user needs and product quality.
