As a Senior Linux/SysAdmin Engineer, you’ll be a key player in this transformation within our dedicated Technical Operations team.

Your Role: Engineering Robust Systems, Championing Security

As a Senior Linux/SysAdmin Engineer at Partnerize, you won’t just maintain systems – you’ll be instrumental in building the infrastructure that powers our growth and ensuring its rock-solid security, performance, and availability. Reporting into our Technical Operations team, your responsibilities will be diverse and impactful:

• Infrastructure & Operations: Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure production environments across Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP). Manage and optimize critical components like databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis), web servers (Nginx), and storage systems. Drive automation using tools like Ansible and Terraform. Participate in system design, capacity planning, and performance optimization. Provide primary operational support for large, distributed applications and participate in the on-call rotation.
• Platform Security: Take ownership of platform security from the infrastructure perspective. Conduct security design reviews, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments. Produce production-grade application security designs. Collaborate closely with our Security Compliance team to ensure our platform is secure from threats. Contribute to security strategy and tooling selection.
• Leadership & Team Growth: Mentor and coach team members, fostering continuous development. Scope incoming work for the SRE team and delegate effectively. Act as a key escalation point for complex incidents and problems, ensuring timely resolution. Champion Continuous Improvement, Continuous Delivery (CD), and Continuous Integration (CI). Work closely with development teams, liaising with other business functions and tech teams to ensure technical issues and projects are correctly managed.
• Project Delivery: Deliver small and large technical projects in a prompt and timely manner, contributing to the continuous development and progression of the team and the platform.

What You’ll Bring to the Table (Essential Skills)

We’re looking for passionate engineers eager to solve complex problems and help us evolve. While we value diverse experience, a strong foundation in the following areas is essential:

• Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator or similar role in production environments.
• Solid understanding of Cloud Computing concepts and practical experience with platforms like AWS or GCP.
• Experience with containerization technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash, and experience with a programming language (Python, Go, or Java preferred).
• Expertise managing production databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Experience implementing automation and configuration management using tools like Ansible or Terraform.
• Direct experience with Security practices in a DevOps or SRE environment, including threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and security design reviews.
• Ability to mentor, coach, and lead technical efforts within a team.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and incident management skills. Ability to diagnose and solve issues independently.
• Ability to prioritize workload, lead on incidents and problem management, and scope/delegate work effectively.
• Familiarity with IT service management frameworks like ITIL.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Experience as part of a team supporting and maintaining an infrastructure.
• Self-learner with the ability to document findings and share knowledge.

Bonus Points for Experience With (Desirable Skills)

These aren’t strictly required, but experience in these areas would be a significant plus:

• Supporting development teams in refactoring technical debt.
• Monitoring systems (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios).
• Working with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Git, Jira, Confluence).
• Specific technologies like Apache Kafka, Druid, Gluster, or Elasticsearch.
• Understanding of web server technologies like Nginx.
• A keen interest in exploring new technologies and continuous learning.
