The Opportunity: Leading North America Payroll Operations
As our Senior Payroll Analyst, you will be the expert guardian of our payroll process for our valued U.S. and Canadian employees. This is a hands-on leadership role where your precision and compliance expertise are paramount. You won’t just process payroll; you’ll optimize, analyze, and collaborate to ensure our team members are paid accurately and on time, every time.
What You’ll Do:
In this role, you will:
- Take ownership of the complete end-to-end payroll processing cycle for approximately 800 U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring accurate, timely semi-monthly cycles.
- Ensure strict adherence to complex federal, state/provincial, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Serve as the primary point person for payroll issue resolution, applying strong problem-solving skills and collaborating effectively across departments.
- Partner closely with People Operations, Benefits, and external vendors to verify the accuracy of benefit deductions and other payroll-related transactions.
- Act as a trusted payroll subject matter expert, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance, standardize, and scale our payroll processes and systems.
- Drive and assist with critical year-end payroll activities, including W-2s, T4s, tax filings, and supporting audits.
- Mentor and guide the Payroll Administrator, fostering team growth and knowledge sharing.
What You’ll Bring:
We’re looking for a candidate with a solid foundation in payroll management:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- A minimum of 7+ years of dedicated payroll processing experience, with a strong preference for experience handling both U.S. and Canadian payrolls.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state/provincial payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Proven experience utilizing payroll systems; hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now is highly desirable.
- Exceptional customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
- Outstanding attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and integrity.
- Experience thriving in cross-functional team environments.
- A Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification is a definite asset.
