Senior Product Analyst
Job Description
Join StyleSeat as a Senior Product Analyst (Remote)
Are you a passionate data storyteller with a knack for turning insights into actionable product improvements? StyleSeat, the leading platform for beauty and wellness professionals, is seeking a Senior Product Analyst to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote opportunity (U.S.-based, select states only – see details below) where you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of our product.
About the Opportunity
As a Senior Product Analyst, you’ll be an integral part of a dedicated product squad, working closely with Product Managers, Designers, QA specialists, and Engineers. You’ll be empowered to proactively uncover opportunities within our data, guide strategic decisions, and drive real impact on the StyleSeat platform. From exploratory analysis to building robust data infrastructure, you’ll have the freedom to explore your curiosities and contribute to various teams, including Marketing, Finance, and Customer Experience.
We’re looking for a resourceful, self-motivated individual who can thrive in an ambiguous environment, ask the right questions, and transform raw data into compelling narratives. If you’re passionate about being the go-to data expert for a team building something meaningful, this role offers the perfect balance of autonomy and influence.
What You’ll Do:
- Own End-to-End Analytics: Drive analytical initiatives for key growth areas such as client experience, marketing effectiveness, marketplace dynamics, and payments.
- Strategic Partner: Collaborate with your squad to inform product decisions from hypothesis to launch, serving as the voice of data in all strategic discussions.
- Proactive Insight Generation: Dive deep into user behavior, conversion funnels, and marketplace dynamics to identify hidden opportunities and uncover valuable insights.
- A/B Testing Expertise: Design and analyze A/B tests, ensuring rigorous methodology while rapidly validating hypotheses and driving product development.
- Build Data Infrastructure: Develop analytical infrastructure using our modern stack (Redshift, dbt, Airflow, Tableau), creating reusable data models for a single source of truth.
- Strategic & Tactical Agility: Seamlessly transition between high-level strategic discussions with executives and hands-on data pipeline debugging or SQL query writing.
- Establish Measurement Frameworks: Define KPIs and standards for previously untracked areas, guiding future decisions.
- Data Evangelist: Empower stakeholders with self-service insights and provide in-depth analysis when needed.
What You’ll Bring:
- 3+ years of experience in product analytics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven track record of being embedded in product teams and using data to solve real user problems.
- Exceptional SQL skills with experience querying large, complex datasets.
- Proficiency in data visualization and storytelling with tools like Tableau (preferred) or similar BI platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business questions into rigorous analyses and communicate findings effectively.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in two-sided marketplaces, SaaS, or payments industries.
- Technical expertise with Python/R for statistical analysis, A/B test design, or causal inference.
- Familiarity with modern data stack tools like dbt and Airflow.
- Startup experience and the ability to thrive in resource-constrained environments.
- Experience building analytics from scratch, creating KPIs, taxonomies, and measurement frameworks.
What Success Looks Like in Year One:
- Becoming the undisputed expert in your domain, with a deep understanding of user behavior and business drivers.
- Building a comprehensive analytics framework that the entire company relies on.
- Directly influencing multiple quarters of product roadmap with insights that drive measurable growth.
- Establishing yourself as a trusted partner to executives, regularly presenting insights that shape strategy.
Desired Traits:
- Self-Starter Mindset: Proactively identify problems and bring solutions.
- Product Intuition: Think like a Product Manager and challenge ideas with data-backed perspectives.
- Intellectual Curiosity: Dig deeper to understand the “why” behind the data.
- Pragmatic Builder: Know when to ship a scrappy MVP versus build a robust system.
- Clear Communicator: Make complex analyses accessible to a broad audience.
Compensation
The base pay range for this role is between $115,000 and $165,000. Actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. Base pay ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future.
