Your Role as a Senior Product Manager, Payments
As a Senior Product Manager, you will be a key player at the intersection of engineering, data, design, and finance. You’ll own high-impact initiatives in core payments infrastructure, checkout optimization, payment method expansion, and authorization rate improvements. This is a high-visibility role, giving you the opportunity to shape the future of payments across Hopper’s global platform and contribute to our next stage of growth.
A Glimpse into Your Day-to-Day
You’ll lead strategy and execution in these core areas:
- Customer Payments: Drive a seamless, localized checkout experience with frictionless card payments and expanded alternative payment method (APM) support.
- Customer Payouts: Power our Fintech products with fast, reliable, and user-friendly payout experiences.
- Supplier Payouts: Optimize payments to our global supplier network, balancing speed, cost, and flexibility to strengthen relationships and support HTS.
Your responsibilities will encompass both vision and execution. A typical day might involve:
- Managing a product roadmap from conception to launch.
- Partnering with engineering to solve complex technical problems.
- Collaborating with data scientists to analyze customer behavior and payment performance.
- Working cross-functionally with stakeholders (Finance, Operations, Legal, BD).
- Defining and tracking KPIs related to payment conversion, authorization rates, and customer satisfaction.
- Brainstorming and wireframing new payment flows for millions of users.
- Making thoughtful trade-offs to deliver measurable impact while managing risk.
- Staying informed about emerging trends in global payments, APMs, and regulatory changes.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate with a combination of product instincts, data-driven thinking, and technical curiosity to build and scale trusted, efficient, and delightful payment experiences. Ideally, you’ll have:
- 5+ years of Product Management experience, with 2โ3 years focused on payments (checkout, payment methods, fraud, payouts, or processing infrastructure).
- Experience in a global two-sided marketplace or travel/e-commerce platform.
- Familiarity with the e-commerce payments ecosystem.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and dive deep into data.
- Strong data analytics background, including A/B testing experience.
- Strong product ownership skills.
- Comfort writing SQL, querying APIs, and brainstorming implementation options with engineers.
- Technical fluency to contribute meaningfully to architecture and roadmap discussions.
