What You’ll Do
- Develop Robust ETL Pipelines: Design, build, and optimize complex data pipelines using Python to ingest, transform, and load critical risk data into platforms like Elasticsearch and other analytical systems.
- Engineer Fraud Detection Strategies: Utilize advanced querying and programming skills with Lucene and Python to create sophisticated rules and procedures that identify and flag fraudulent behaviors across various channels.
- Conduct Deep Dive Threat Analysis: Proactively research global fraud trends, analyze anomalies in large datasets, and map complex financial or criminal networks to uncover emerging threats.
- Ensure Production Stability: Provide essential support and administration for our production Elastic Stack clusters (Elasticsearch and Kibana), monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and resolving support tickets promptly.
- Deliver Actionable Risk Insights: Translate technical findings and complex data into clear, high-quality intelligence products and strategic recommendations for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Drive Innovation: Stay ahead of the curve by researching new fraud prevention technologies, methodologies, and tools, proposing creative solutions to enhance our risk intelligence capabilities.
- Collaborate Across Functions: Partner closely with Product, Enterprise Risk, Risk Services, and IT teams to align technical solutions with business objectives and provide thought leadership in data analysis and risk mitigation.
- Maintain Data Integrity: Support and enhance our risk intelligence data standards, recommending improvements for current and future data acquisition and utilization needs.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a seasoned professional with a strong foundation in data, risk, and technology.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in areas such as fraud analysis, data science, risk management, or data modeling.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in ETL development and data integration, with proven ability to write sophisticated ETL code in Python.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in the administration of the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch and Kibana) in production environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Advanced capability in using Lucene and Python for complex querying, data manipulation, and programming tasks.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and troubleshooting systems in a production environment, including managing and resolving support tickets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, detect anomalies, and extract actionable insights from large, complex datasets.
- Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and presenting technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively and independently with minimal oversight in a fully remote setting.
Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
