Role: Global Budget Development Lead
As the Global Budget Development Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of our clinical trials. You will be responsible for overseeing the budget development process for site-facing templates, which includes working with business partners to develop global clinical site budgets.
- Budget Creation and Oversight: Spearhead the creation of actionable and relevant site budgets for global use, ensuring timely delivery to business partners.
- Template Development: Take ownership of drafting, reviewing, and finalizing global clinical trial budget templates, aligning with Fair Market Value (FMV) and industry best practices.
- Negotiation Tools: Develop comprehensive parameters and tools to empower our Contracting Team during budget negotiations.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for cost benchmarking and cost benchmarking tools, providing internal training and ongoing global support.
- Team Leadership: Oversee Investigator Budget Analyst staff, managing workloads, ensuring deliverable quality, and escalating issues to management as needed.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with Clinical, Global Site, and Study Operations teams to provide clarifications, educate on the budget development process, and explain the rationale behind budget template items.
Qualifications We’re Looking For
We’re seeking candidates who bring a blend of academic knowledge, practical experience, and strong interpersonal skills to the table. Ideally, you’ll possess:
- Education: A Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree or equivalent.
- Experience: 8+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in a research setting with pharmaceutical industry expertise in clinical contracting, outsourcing, or finance.
- Skills: Demonstrated abilities in negotiation, project management, effective communication, and relationship management.
- Competencies: A high level of contract/budget and technical competencies across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Scientific Acumen: Contract negotiation experience in a scientific setting is highly preferred.
- Clinical Trial Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in contracts, budgets, clinical site/sponsor relationships, and performance related to clinical drug studies is also preferred.
