Senior Technical Product Manager

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and technically astute Senior Technical Product Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be the strategic link between our customers, stakeholders, and dedicated Agile engineering teams building our cloud-native application security platform. You will champion the voice of the customer, translating complex needs into actionable validated user stories, and deeply embedding yourself in the Agile development process.

Working closely with both internal experts and external partners, you will own and refine the product backlog, define clear acceptance criteria, and ensure delivered features truly solve customer problems. While collaborating with senior Product Management guidance, you will increasingly operate autonomously, guiding a high-performing Agile team towards delivering maximum value. This role requires a proactive individual eager to build strong feedback loops and maintain regular, insightful interactions with stakeholders to ensure our product strategy aligns with market demands and user needs.

Key Responsibilities: Driving Product Success

• Champion the Customer: Embed customer and user insights throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring continuous validation of features and stories.
• Shape the Backlog: Define, prioritize, and manage a detailed product backlog, creating actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Partner with Engineering: Engage deeply with your Agile team to decompose work, answer questions, and ensure successful delivery.
• Gather & Analyze Feedback: Build and leverage feedback loops between the team and stakeholders, using data to inform product decisions and recommend improvements.
• Drive Strategy: Collaborate with senior Product Managers to help refine and execute the product strategy and roadmap.
• Enable the Business: Participate in technical enablement sessions for Sales and Services Engineering teams.
• Advocate & Prioritize: Champion customer needs when making critical trade-offs and prioritization decisions.
• Measure Impact: Analyze product usage data to understand customer behavior and identify key pain points.
• Foster Best Practices: Contribute to defining Technical Product Management standards and join a community of practice focused on Agile and Lean principles.
• Practice Empathy: Demonstrate strong empathy in communications and interactions with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager role within an Agile environment, specifically delivering cloud-native applications.
• Technical Depth: Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, 12-Factor principles, Microservices, DevOps practices, Test Driven Development (TDD), Extreme Programming (XP), and Observability/Monitoring.
• Platform Proficiency: Familiarity with Linux, command line interfaces, Docker containers, and Kubernetes.
• SDLC Expertise: Experience with software development processes, build systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Developer Focus: Hands-on experience defining and releasing commercial software with developers as primary users; familiarity with the open-source community is a plus (developer evangelism welcomed).
• Defining Success: Proven ability to define clear criteria for acceptable solutions (e.g., scale, performance, reliability, usability) and communicate effectively with distributed teams.
• Prioritization & Communication: Ability to make clear prioritization decisions, communicate trade-offs effectively, and work responsively with distributed teams across multiple channels.
• Mentorship (Preferred): Experience mentoring other Product Owners or team members.
• Strategic Partnership: Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders on critical initiatives.
• Application Security (Preferred): Experience with application security, software testing, or quality workflows is highly valued.
• Certifications (Preferred): Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) preferred.
• Education: BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
