Are you a highly experienced & empathetic User Experience (UX) Designer with a passion for creating intuitive, high-impact digital experiences? Do you thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and have a proven ability to navigate complexity within enterprise settings? We are searching for a skilled Sr. Experience Designer to join our client’s innovative marketing team on a 100% remote contract basis. This role is open exclusively to candidates working on a W2 and requires the ability to work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours. This is a 6-month contract opportunity with strong potential for extension based on performance and project needs.

About the Team & The Opportunity

You’ll be a key member of the “Simplified Solutions” team, a group that operates with the agility and entrepreneurial spirit of a startup, while benefiting from the resources of a large enterprise. This team is dedicated to optimizing user journeys and experiences across critical internal-facing tools and customer-facing portals that are vital to the marketing organization’s success.

As a Sr. Experience Designer here, you’re not just executing designs; you’re a strategic partner. You’ll work hand-in-hand with Product Owners and Business Stakeholders, contributing significantly to the strategy and execution of projects already in flight, as well as brand new initiatives. You’ll need to be a true self-starter, comfortable taking ownership of design projects from end-to-end in a fast-paced environment. What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities

Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team (including researchers, designers, and developers), your responsibilities will include:

• Engaging across the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept and analysis through design, development support, documentation, and maintenance.
• Translating user needs, business requirements, and research insights into compelling design artifacts, including conceptual wireframes, detailed high-fidelity mockups, information architecture diagrams, interaction specifications, and functional prototypes.
• Driving the creation and rapid iteration of  interactive prototypes to test concepts and refine user flows based on feedback.
• Co-creating solutions and collaborating closely with development, marketing, and product teams throughout the design process.
• Identifying areas for experience improvement, proposing innovative design solutions, and backing your recommendations with data and industry best practices.
• Communicating design decisions clearly and effectively, ensuring all touchpoints of the user experience are considered and represented.
• Collaborating with UX Research colleagues to plan and conduct usability testing studies and integrate findings into designs.
• Analyzing existing user experiences to identify points of friction, diagnose root causes, and translate them into actionable design solutions.
• Applying and enhancing the core Human-Centered Design (HCD) framework to ensure user needs are at the forefront of every design decision.
• Contributing to the design and potentially front-end aspects (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) of platforms built within Content Management Systems (CMS).

What You’ll Bring: Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate the following qualifications:

• 6+ years of dedicated User Experience (UX) design experience.
• Proven hands-on experience in UX Research methodologies and practice.
• Expert proficiency using Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity design.
• Extensive experience designing for both internal-facing applications and external, customer-facing portals within a complex enterprise environment.
• A strong portfolio that highlights your design process, visual design skills, and attention to detail, featuring at least <3 detailed end-to-end UX case studies.
• Solid understanding of responsive web design principles and experience designing for various screen sizes.
• Familiarity with web accessibility guidelines and standards (e.g., WCAG).
• Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS) and contributing to or utilizing Design Systems.
• A strong foundation in Design Thinking principles and their application.
• The ability to troubleshoot potential technical implementation issues related to front-end development.
• Demonstrated capability to work effectively both autonomously and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to take ownership of design projects from conception to completion.
• A degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable professional experience.

Bonus Points:

• Experience working in a dynamic startup environment or on projects that mirror startup speed and ambiguity.
• Industry experience in Retail Purchase, Financial Services, or Insurance.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and connect design outcomes directly to strategic business goals.
• Excellent collaboration skills with a humble approach to feedback and a desire to empower team members.
