Lyft is seeking a passionate and experienced Software Engineer in Test (SET) to join our vibrant Customer Platform Quality team. Your Mission: Champion Quality Across Our Customer Platform

As a Software Engineer in Test, you’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding the quality of our customer-facing platform. You will work within a cross-functional team to drive impactful projects and collaborate with software engineers, project managers, and other quality teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with product teams to define testing requirements and develop effective test automation strategies that accelerate developer velocity.
• Craft comprehensive test plans for new and existing features, aligning them with product objectives and ensuring thorough coverage.
• Actively monitor test results, diligently troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and report bugs with precision.
• Continuously enhance and maintain our test automation framework and infrastructure, promoting its adoption and providing support to engineers.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

We’re looking for a candidate with:

• 4+ years of hands-on industry experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or a seasoned Automation Engineer.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, Kotlin, or Swift.
• Experience with mobile automation frameworks like Espresso/XCUITest for modern mobile applications.
• A strong understanding of microservices architecture and API testing principles.
• A proven track record of improving developer efficiency through automation, balancing short-term gains with long-term strategic goals.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a genuine passion for tackling complex challenges.

Bonus Points

• Deep proficiency in Java/Kotlin or Swift for mobile platform development.
• A proven history of proactively driving initiatives, taking ownership of projects, and independently identifying and implementing improvements to processes and tools.
• A strong desire to learn and explore new technologies and processes that can significantly impact engineering team performance.
