Senior Sales Representative – Growth Channel/Specialty Business

Are you a driven sales professional with a passion for building relationships and exceeding targets? Mattel, the #1 toy company in the US, is seeking a dynamic Senior Sales Representative to join our Growth Channel/Specialty business team. In this pivotal role, you will manage a diverse portfolio of specialty store accounts, driving revenue growth and expanding our presence in the market.

Your Impact:

  • Manage and grow a diverse account base, consistently achieving sales goals for key Mattel brands.
  • Develop and present strategic account plans, incorporating planogram development, accurate forecasting, and innovative promotional strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly execute licensed partnership orders, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively identify and capitalize on opportunities for product placements and promotions, both in-store and online, to maximize brand visibility.
  • Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with accounts through consistent communication and exceptional customer service.
  • Contribute to the management of our B2B platform, streamlining processes and enhancing the customer experience.
  • Craft compelling sell sheets and mass emails to effectively communicate sales opportunities to your account base.
  • Serve as a key liaison with US marketing teams, ensuring alignment on brand initiatives and maximizing their impact.
  • Partner with brokers within your assigned account base to collaboratively achieve targets and expand market reach.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of Mattel’s extensive brand portfolio, identifying and recommending up-sell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Analyze point-of-sale (POS) and shipment data to uncover valuable trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Maintain and update accurate item-level forecasts within Mattel’s system, ensuring optimal inventory management.
  • Present insightful monthly sales forecasts during team meetings, providing valuable insights into account performance.
  • Represent Mattel at Toy Fairs, select trade shows, and account visits (approximately 15% travel).

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related sales role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in direct selling roles and consistently exceed sales targets.
  • Exceptional ability to effectively manage and prioritize a diverse client base of accounts.
  • In-depth understanding of customer service best practices and policies.
  • Ability to quickly grasp detailed product knowledge, selling policies, and promotional strategies.
  • A resilient, optimistic, and passionate approach to continuously achieving goals.
  • Self-initiative and motivation to independently manage your area of responsibility.
  • Exceptional tactfulness and business acumen in both internal and external interpersonal relations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners.
  • Business acumen, with a solid understanding of retail distribution across various channels and business models.
  • Experience in Sales, Marketing, Consumer Packaged Goods, or Retail environments is a plus.
  • Omni-channel experience is a plus.
  • A growth mindset, demonstrating curiosity, continuous learning, and a proactive approach to embracing challenges and improving oneself.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $87,000 to $100,000. This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
