The Role: Staff Accountant – APAC Region
As a Staff Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of our operations in the APAC region, with a focus on India. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial documents, overseeing accounting procedures, and providing financial advice on budgeting and cash flow management. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of local regulations and a commitment to accuracy.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Local Regulatory Compliance: Staying up-to-date on accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws in India.
- Tax Planning and Filings: Preparing and submitting accurate tax returns (income tax, GST, etc.).
- Government Reporting and Filings: Handling necessary filings, including annual financial statements and reports.
- Statutory Audits: Collaborating with external auditors and providing necessary financial information.
- Financial Accounting: Performing day-to-day accounting tasks (general ledger maintenance, journal entries, AP/AR, bank reconciliations).
- Financial Reporting: Preparing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Internal Controls: Developing and implementing procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data accuracy.
- Liaison with Government Authorities: Acting as a point of contact for financial and tax matters.
- Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for streamlining and automating accounting processes.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy and expert proficiency in Excel.
- Power Query & Power BI skills are a significant advantage.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and forecasting.
- A proactive, communicative, and energetic personality.
- A success-driven attitude with a positive, can-do approach.
