About the Opportunity

Ready to make a tangible difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients? We’re seeking a talented and passionate Android Engineer to build and evolve our critical patient-facing mobile application.

This isn’t just another mobile development role; it’s a chance to directly impact healthcare access and outcomes. You’ll be a core member of a small, agile, cross-functional team dedicated to building, enhancing, and maintaining our application, serving a large user base across North America. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and backend engineers to deliver seamless, valuable experiences from concept to deployment.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our engineering team, you will:

Design, develop, and launch impactful new features that directly improve the patient experience using Kotlin and modern Android practices, including Jetpack Compose.

Ensure the app remains stable, high-performing, and maintainable through proactive refactoring, performance optimization, and bug fixing.

Champion quality by writing comprehensive unit, snapshot, and UI tests. Take ownership of our CI/CD pipeline to enable reliable and frequent releases.

Contribute to and drive architectural discussions, balancing technical excellence with timely delivery to achieve optimal time-to-value.

Act as a guardian for security, privacy, and accessibility, ensuring our app adheres to the highest standards, especially within our regulated healthcare environment.

Foster a culture of clear, proactive communication within your team and across stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who possesses:

3+ years of professional experience building and shipping production Android applications using Kotlin.

A deep understanding of core Android development principles and technologies, including Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Dependency Injection, modern networking, memory management, and experience working with legacy XML Views (with view binding).

Proven experience with various testing methodologies (unit, snapshot, UI) and a strong belief in automated testing as a critical part of the development lifecycle.

Experience or a strong capacity to work effectively within a regulated industry, understanding the critical importance of security and privacy (familiarity with concepts like HIPAA, TLS, Keychain, encryption is highly valued).

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback through code reviews.

Why Join Us?

You’ll be part of a mission-driven company dedicated to improving healthcare. We value collaboration, innovation, and creating an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are welcomed. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve.
