The Opportunity: Team Lead, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

As the Team Lead FP&A, you’ll spearhead our financial planning, forecasting, and control processes, ensuring they meet the highest standards. You’ll lead a team of four skilled FP&A professionals and act as a key business partner to the CFO and C-suite, providing strategic insights that fuel profitable growth and operational excellence. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your financial expertise and leadership skills to significantly impact Lingoda’s continued success.

Your Mission: Driving Financial Excellence and Team Growth

Your primary focus will be on managing and improving the accuracy, simplicity, and scalability of our forecasting and planning processes. You will oversee and refine our complex financial models, conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis, and champion initiatives for process automation and system improvements within finance. Beyond the numbers, you will be instrumental in fostering a supportive, empathetic, and performance-driven culture within the FP&A team. You will also build trust and empower team members to take ownership of their work.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance forecasting and planning processes.
• Own and refine complex financial models.
• Lead initiatives for process automation and system improvements.
• Monitor budget vs. actuals, analyze variances, and recommend actions.
• Prepare investor-grade KPI dashboards and reporting packages.
• Drive cost control initiatives to improve profitability.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4 FP&A professionals.
• Foster a collaborative environment with Accounting, Data, and Strategy teams.

What You Bring to Lingoda

• 6-8 years of FP&A experience in high-growth tech environments (subscription experience a plus).
• Previous leadership experience managing FP&A teams in PE/VC-backed companies.
• Exceptional financial modeling capabilities.
• Experience with modern FP&A tools (e.g., Abacum, Cube) and Google Sheets/Excel.
• Proven track record of process improvement and automation in finance.
• Demonstrated ability to implement finance business partnering models.
• Fluency in English and German is essential.
• Empathetic leadership style and strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
