The Opportunity: Your Role as a Technical Writer

As a Technical Writer, you’ll be a key player in bridging the gap between our cutting-edge technology and the users who rely on it. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and compliance teams to craft clear, concise, and accurate documentation that empowers our developers and ensures we meet the highest industry standards. This role requires a blend of technical aptitude, strong writing skills, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.

What You’ll Do: Responsibilities & Impact

• Craft and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for our software products, APIs, SDKs, and developer tools.
• Collaborate with our brilliant engineering minds to distill complex product functionality into easily understandable documentation.
• Develop engaging tutorials, practical code samples, and intuitive how-to guides that streamline developer onboarding and seamless integration.
• Serve as a meticulous editor and proofreader, ensuring our content is crystal clear, consistently accurate, and technically sound.
• Structure our documentation for optimal searchability and user-friendliness, making information readily accessible when needed.
• Actively participate in product design and review meetings to stay ahead of the curve on upcoming features and pivotal changes.
• Translate intricate financial and technical concepts into approachable content suitable for both seasoned developers and key stakeholders.
• Work hand-in-hand with cross-functional teams, guaranteeing that our documentation aligns perfectly with vital regulatory and security standards, including PCI DSS, OSFI, The ACT, and PIPEDA.
• Develop engaging onboarding materials, dedicated developer portals, and strategic integration playbooks for our valued internal and external partners.
• Maintain meticulous version control and ensure seamless documentation updates that stay perfectly in sync with our software release cycles.
• Guarantee that all documentation is strategically designed to support audit readiness and meticulous compliance reporting.

What You’ll Bring: Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience as a Technical Writer in a complex technical environment.
• Proven experience in a software development or fintech environment.
• Familiarity with banking systems, financial APIs, and secure software development practices.
• Solid understanding of regulatory requirements within the financial industry.
• Proficiency with documentation tools such as Markdown, Git, Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Exceptional communication skills and unwavering attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills to present data insights to stakeholders clearly.
• A strong understanding of our product and service offerings at Access Credit Union. (Bonus!)
• Advanced knowledge of risk management in the financial industry. (Big Plus!)
