Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people through the power of technology? The Raspberry Pi Foundation is seeking a talented and enthusiastic User Experience (UX) Researcher to join our dynamic team in Cambridge, UK (with UK remote options available!).

About the Role

As a UX Researcher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of our innovative products, designed to empower young people and educators worldwide. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to conduct insightful research that informs our product development process. Your work will directly impact how young people and educators interact with our digital platforms, making learning more engaging and accessible.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization while working on a variety of exciting projects. You’ll be part of an agile and collaborative team, using tools like Figma, monday.com, and Slack to connect and deliver impactful results at scale.

Salary: £40,000 – £48,000 p.a. (full-time equivalent), dependent on experience.

Basis: Permanent; full-time, part-time or flexible.

Eligibility: You must be eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to developing and refining user personas and archetypes to foster empathy and understanding within the team.
  • Plan and conduct qualitative, moderated interviews with diverse users, including educators and young people, to gather valuable insights.
  • Execute unmoderated research, conduct desk research, and analyze quantitative data (e.g., site analytics) to evaluate the impact of our digital platforms, focusing on user journeys, engagement, and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to align research efforts with key business objectives and inform product design decisions.
  • Advocate for a user-centered approach by providing evidence-based insights throughout the design process.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate research findings through engaging reports, presentations, and practical examples.
  • Share knowledge and promote UX research best practices within the Digital Products team.

Experience and Attributes

  • Possess demonstrable experience as a professional digital UX Researcher.
  • Have a solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and the ability to synthesize findings into actionable insights.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Understand product design processes and how research contributes to informed decision-making.
  • Have experience with, or a strong interest in, conducting research with young people.
  • Are comfortable collaborating with Product Designers, Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other cross-functional team members.
  • Are familiar with developing user personas and other artifacts that promote user-centered design.
  • Are proficient in using analytics tools to complement user research.
  • Have a genuine interest in education and creating engaging experiences for young people.
