About The Role

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our remote team and contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of our flagship platform. As a WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for building scalable infrastructure, creating new features, refining existing codebases, and resolving bugs efficiently. Your role will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to scope, develop, and test features that impact a global user base. You will take ownership of your tasks from conception to deployment, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to best practices. Your ability to communicate effectively, troubleshoot complex issues, and iterate quickly will be essential to your success. Qualifications

• Professional experience with WordPress plugin development, architecture, and standards
• Advanced proficiency with PHP and MySQL, including modern PHP practices (OOP, autoloading, namespaces, traits, interfaces)
• Strong familiarity with JavaScript (vanilla JS, jQuery, ES6)
• Experience using and extending build tools like gulp and webpack
• Knowledge of package managers such as Composer and NPM
• Experience working with third-party APIs (e.g., Stripe, Drip, Zapier)
• Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub
• Ability to iterate and ship ideas quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with legacy code refactoring with an emphasis on backwards compatibility
• Previous freelance or remote work experience
• Personal computer with reliable internet access
• Availability to participate in audio/video meetings between 9 am – 5 pm EST

Responsibilities

• Triaging bugs and small enhancements submitted via GitHub
• Scoping, developing, and testing new product features and plugins
• Refactoring legacy codebases to improve performance and maintainability while ensuring backwards compatibility
• Providing constructive feedback and peer reviews on GitHub pull requests
• Communicating effectively with team members through chat, audio, and video channels
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Maintaining adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Participating in planning and sprint meetings to align on project goals
• Continuously learning new technologies and improving existing skills
